Developer with DevOps experience

Do you want to put real climate science in the hands of the public? We are looking for a new team member who wants make our automated infrastructure even better. Let's change the world, together!
  • Do you get satisfaction from automating previously manual work?
  • Does the thought of taking ownership over CI/CD systems sounds interesting to you?
  • Is functional programming appealing to you?
  • Do you have experience of setting up monitoring and analytics for web apps?
  • Are you used to writing tests?
  • Can you wear different hats and help out with whatever needs to be done?
  • Do you want to be a part of a small but growing team dedicated to become a global leader and truly help solving climate change?

CarbonCloud is looking for a new developer who will work from our HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden. We help food producers all around the world calculate their climate footprint, using our SaaS software. To ensure we can continue to deploy new value to our customers daily we need to keep improving our infrastructure.

As a member of the development team you will report directly to our CTO Mikael and work in close collaboration with him and the rest of the dev team. We work in close collaboration on shared daily goals, and help each other out if we get stuck (or have a bad day). The team as a whole is responsible for keeping the systems up and running but you will continuously improve our build/testing/deployment pipeline (as well as contributing to new features).

Our mission is to get every food producer in the world on our platform and you will become an important part of that puzzle and help us keeping the software stable, functioning and filled with new exciting features. With a rapidly growing company you quickly go from being the latest recruitment, to being one of our most experienced colleagues.

Our stack:

  • Haskell
  • Elm
  • Event-sourced
  • Docker
  • PostgreSQL
  • Purescript+Puppeteer for End-to-End testing
  • CI/CD with Jenkins
  • Several deploys per day, automated deployment with every PR merge
  • Very well covered with tests
  • Azure (might change to AWS)
  • Graylog

Or, know someone who would be a perfect fit? Let them know!

Perks & Benefits

It's still early in the CarbonCloud journey towards a global network of climate footprints for food, so we don't have fussball tables, free snack machines or a barista. The coffee machine is actually two stairs down, so walking there almost counts as a workout. But we are offering some other kind of perks, that we hope matter even more.

  • Work on the biggest issue of our generation

Your time is precious. Spend it where it matters.

  • Lots of room to shape your work

We expect You to know You best. In general, you get to pick your tools and decide how to make the most of them.

  • Get better together

You'll be working closely with motivated people that joined the company since they want to change the world. But we are doing something very new, and we are figuring it out together as we go. Sharing mistakes and learnings makes us better at this.

Workplace & Culture

Working here is a great way to try out new things and push your comfort zone, if you want to. We don't have a specialist in every area yet, counting on the team being flexible and stepping in wherever needed. Some of us stick to our ordinary job descriptions, but we also have developers trying out sales, and designers doing marketing.

We are flexible with hours and remote work where needed, trusting everyone to do their best to work in a way that's effective. There's a lot to be done in the coming months though, and we've started working from the office most of the time.
